Pension payment schedules and documentation deadlines announced in Hungary and Romania
In Hungary, the State Treasury has released the payment schedule for October 2026. Family allowances, child care benefits (GYES), child rearing allowances (GYET), disability support, and blind person's allowances are expected to be credited to bank accounts on October 2, 2026. These payments cover the month of September. October pensions are scheduled for bank credit on October 12, 2026. For those receiving payments via mail, funds typically arrive within 2 to 4 business days following the bank credit date.
In Romania, the Satu Mare County Pension Fund has issued a warning regarding potential benefit suspensions. Approximately 697 pensioners living abroad have yet to submit required proof of life documentation; failure to do so may result in the suspension of payments starting October 1. Additionally, 354 students receiving survivor pensions have not yet submitted the necessary study certificates, which could lead to a suspension of benefits starting November 1. Managing Director Cristian Soponoș urged affected individuals to submit documents promptly to avoid service interruptions.
