Pension systems in Peru and Costa Rica provide updates

In Peru, the National Pension System (ONP) calculates monthly pensions based on a reference salary and years of contributions. To access ordinary retirement, individuals must be at least 65 years old with a minimum of 20 years of contributions. Early retirement options exist for men at 55 with 30 years of contributions and for women at 50 with 25 years of contributions, using the same calculation formula.

In Costa Rica, the National Teachers' Pension and Retirement Board (JUPEMA) is celebrating 68 years of managing pension regimes for the education sector. The institution supports over 170,000 affiliates, including those in public schools, private centers, and public universities. More than 124,000 members belong to the Collective Capitalization Regime (RCC), which holds reserves exceeding 6.5 trillion colones. JUPEMA operates under the supervision of the Superintendency of Pensions (SUPEN).
