Pentagon accused of hiding US casualty numbers in Iran conflict

The Washington Post has accused the Pentagon of quietly updating casualty figures related to the conflict with Iran to avoid increasing domestic unpopularity regarding the war.

According to reports, the Pentagon added 37 American casualties—including 29 sailors and eight Marines—to the total count of wounded, which has now risen to 861, without official communication. Since the ceasefire collapsed last July, the Trump administration has reportedly categorized these casualties under “overseas operations” rather than counting them toward “Operation Epic Fury,” the joint military campaign launched by the United States and Israel against Iran in February.
