Pentagon dismisses General Charles Costanza, V Corps commander

The Pentagon has prematurely removed Lieutenant General Charles Costanza from his position as commander of the U.S. Army's V Corps. The dismissal occurred approximately two months before his scheduled end of service.

As commander of the V Corps, which maintains a significant presence in Poland, Costanza was responsible for coordinating U.S. military assistance to Ukraine and managing American forces on NATO's eastern flank. One former official has suggested that the dismissal may be related to issues involving alcohol consumption.
