Pentagon releases new UFO files, highlighting massive sighting over Texas nuclear base

The U.S. Department of Defense has added 40 newly declassified items to its public Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) database, bringing the total to 162 records. The release includes 14 documents, 19 videos, four audio recordings and three images drawn from the Pentagon, NASA, the CIA, the FBI and the Energy Department.

A standout case concerns a September 2015 encounter near the Pantex nuclear weapons facility outside Amarillo, Texas. Officers reported a large, two‑tiered circular object that entered restricted airspace, prompted a lockdown, and was pursued on the ground. Witnesses said the object made no sound, showed no visible propulsion and moved in a manner unlike anything seen in a combined 28‑year military aviation career. No interference with the facility was recorded and the incident remains unexplained.

Other files document sightings over the western Pacific, the Atlantic Ocean and the Middle East, many captured on infrared video. Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell said additional UAP material will be released in the future.
