Pentagon releases third tranche of UFO files, adds orb sightings and historic Harare report

On 12 June 2026 the U.S. Department of War (Pentagon) made public a third tranche of unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP) files, a set of 72 documents drawn from the FBI, CIA and Pentagon archives. The release was announced by Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell, who said the material will continue to be posted on the WAR.GOV/UFO portal, which has logged more than 1.7 billion views since its launch.

The new batch includes several recent testimonies of glowing orbs observed in the northeastern United States. FBI interviews describe red and white spherical lights, some appearing tethered, with one account noting a three‑foot‑wide red sphere containing a “white plasma sun.” The reports also reference earlier sightings labelled “Triangle Orbs,” “Red Orb Rotation,” and “Orbs Over the Pond.”

Among the historical items is a previously unreleased CIA report of a 2008 UFO sighting over Harare International Airport in Zimbabwe, documenting a disc‑shaped object and radar data, though no photographs or video were included.

Most of the files repeat material already available in agency archives, but a few have been released without prior censorship. The Pentagon indicated that further UAP records will be disclosed in upcoming releases.
