Pentair plc faces class action lawsuit and lowered earnings forecasts
Pentair plc is facing a class action lawsuit and downward revisions to its earnings forecasts. The Portnoy Law Firm has announced legal action on behalf of investors who purchased securities between April 28, 2026, and July 14, 2026. The lawsuit alleges that the company made misleading statements regarding its business operations, specifically failing to disclose significant inventory destocking within its Pool channel.
Preliminary second-quarter 2026 financial results indicated that this destocking negatively impacted Pool segment sales by approximately $170 million and segment income by approximately $105 million.
In addition to the legal challenges, Zacks Research has issued a bearish forecast, cutting its Q4 2026 earnings per share estimate for Pentair to $1.20 from a previous estimate of $1.32. Other financial institutions have also adjusted their outlooks, with several analysts reducing price targets for the industrial products company.
