Penthouse to perform ending theme for new drama ‘Wheat, Butter, and Revenge’

The city soul band Penthouse has written the ending theme song ‘Haikei’ for the upcoming Fuji TV drama ‘Wheat, Butter, and Revenge’ (Komugi to Bata to Fukushu to). The song is scheduled for digital release on October 21.

The drama, based on a popular vertical manga, follows a baker named Michiru, played by Rikka Ihara, who experiences a betrayal and death, only to wake up two years in the past. She begins a second life focused on revenge and success. Ryoya Shimeki of Travis Japan will appear in a key role as a cooking instructor.

Penthouse vocalist Shintaro Namioka described the medium ballad as a reflection on the irreversibility of life and the hope of finding happiness a year into the future. The band is currently seeing significant success, with recent sold-out performances at the Nippon Budokan and upcoming tours in Japan and South Korea.
