Penticton hosts Vancouver Canucks training camp and Vees sign new players

The Penticton Vees have announced the signing of two 16-year-old forwards, Markus Knaub and Peter Banicevic. Knaub joins the organization following a free agent training camp invitation and will play this season with the Portage Terriers in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League. Banicevic, a third-round selection in the 2025 WHL draft, will suit up with Delta Hockey Academy for the 2026-27 season.

Separately, the Vancouver Canucks are returning to Penticton for their third consecutive annual training camp. The four-day pre-season event begins Thursday at the South Okanagan Events Centre and includes public practices and scrimmage games. Local officials noted that hosting the NHL team provides significant community status for the hockey-centric town.
