Penticton Vees lose preseason opener to Kamloops Blazers

The Penticton Vees began their 2026-27 preseason with a 4-3 shootout loss to the Kamloops Blazers. Despite two goals from Nate Pederson and one from Noah Milford, the Vees were unable to hold their lead after the Blazers scored twice on the powerplay in the third period to tie the game.

Heading into the new season, Vees captain Callum Stone expressed a desire to build on the team's previous success, which included a conference finals appearance. Stone noted that the team is motivated to reach the WHL finals and potentially the Memorial Cup. The roster features several returning players and three NHL draftees: Noel Pakarinen and Sean Burick of the Vegas Golden Knights, and Gio Pantelas of the Los Angeles Kings. Head coach and general manager Fred Harbinson emphasized a commitment to daily improvement and competition.
