Penticton Vees to host Murray Maxwell Night on Oct. 9
The Penticton Vees have announced Murray Maxwell Night to honor the longtime hockey volunteer and fan. The tribute will take place on Friday, Oct. 9, at the South Okanagan Events Centre during a game against the Brandon Wheat Kings.
Maxwell, who passed away in August at the age of 70, was a significant figure in the Penticton hockey community. His involvement with the franchise spanned several eras, including when the team was known as the Knights and the Panthers in the BCHL.
The scheduled event will include a pre-game ceremony and a video tribute to honor his impact on the organization and the city. The game is set to begin with a puck drop at 7 p.m.
