People Power Party criticizes tax reforms and election commission

The People Power Party has launched a multi-pronged critique against the current administration, targeting both tax reform policies and the National Election Commission.

Party leader Jang Dong-hyeok criticized the government's recent tax reform proposal, characterizing it as a drive for increased taxation rather than normalization. He specifically highlighted changes to family business inheritance deductions and reduced tax benefits for small business owners and public transportation users, claiming the measures aim to collect an additional 3.443 trillion won over five years.

Additionally, the party condemned the National Election Commission for dismissing an election appeal regarding the June 3 Seoul mayoral election. Jang described the dismissal as a “self-exemption” despite acknowledged procedural violations, stating the party will pursue truth through special investigations and litigation.

Floor leader Jung Jeom-sik further criticized the administration's handling of real estate and economic policies, calling for a complete replacement of the economic leadership, including Policy Chief Kim Yong-beom, due to perceived inconsistency and market instability.
