People Power Party holds massive Seoul rally to criticize Lee Jae-myung administration

The People Power Party held a large-scale street rally near Sungnyemun in Seoul on October 3, marking its first major outdoor demonstration in approximately one year. An estimated 200,000 people attended the ‘National Action Convention to Judge the Lee Jae-myung Administration, Restore Livelihoods, and Protect Security.’

Party leadership, including Representative Jang Dong-hyeok and Floor Leader Jeong Jeom-sik, used the event to intensify criticism of the current administration and the Democratic Party. Key grievances raised included national security concerns following North Korean mine incidents, judicial independence, real estate policies, and the ongoing legal proceedings involving Lee Jae-myung. Party members also called for a halt to farmland investigations and addressed economic issues such as ETF regulations.

While the rally served to consolidate the party's core support base ahead of upcoming parliamentary audits, some internal voices expressed concern that such aggressive street tactics might hinder efforts to expand the party's appeal to moderate voters. In response, the Democratic Party criticized the rally as a futile political maneuver.
