People Power Party leaders visit welfare facilities ahead of Chuseok
Leadership from the People Power Party conducted outreach to socially vulnerable groups ahead of the Chuseok holiday on September 23. Rather than visiting crowded transit hubs like Seoul Station, party leaders focused on visiting welfare facilities and low-income residential areas to address local livelihoods.
Party leader Jang Dong-hyeok visited a welfare center for youth living outside of traditional family structures in Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi Province. Accompanied by party officials and the ‘Youth Red Wing’ volunteer group, Jang participated in making traditional rice cakes with the youth. He emphasized that the state has a responsibility to ensure these individuals receive the love and happiness necessary for their future well-being.
Meanwhile, Floor Leader Jeong Jeom-sik visited a ‘jjokbangchon’ (small, cramped room district) in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul. He visited a community warehouse to donate food supplies, including rice and instant noodles, and inspected public facilities such as shared bathrooms and showers. Jeong stated that politics must be the first to support citizens during difficult times and pledged to pursue institutional changes to provide practical assistance for residents' daily lives and winter preparations.
