People Power Party reduces Rep. Kwon Young-jin's disciplinary period

The People Power Party's Central Ethics Committee has reduced the disciplinary period for Rep. Kwon Young-jin from 18 months to 12 months of suspension of party rights. The decision follows a re-examination request by Kwon, who had been sanctioned for grabbing floor leader Jung Jeom-sik by the collar during a protest regarding committee assignments.

The reduction in the suspension period may impact Kwon's ability to run in future general elections, though it avoids the total disqualification that a longer sentence might have imposed.

Additionally, the committee has lifted the suspension of duties for Rep. Lim Jong-deuk following a dismissal of charges, and has decided to suspend the disciplinary action against Rep. Yoon Han-hong.
