People's Party proposes water pact and tax cuts in Spain

The People's Party (PP) has outlined several policy proposals targeting the primary sector and self-employed workers in Spain. Alberto Nadal, Vice Secretary of Economy and Sustainable Development, proposed a national water pact and an electrical grid reinforcement plan to address resource scarcity and rising production costs. Following a visit to livestock farms in Toledo, Nadal criticized the current management of water resources in the Tagus basin and called for the completion of pending hydraulic infrastructure.

Additionally, the PP is advocating for relief for the self-employed and families. Carmen Fúnez, Vice Secretary of Health and Social Policy, proposed tax reductions, decreased bureaucracy, and improved work-life balance to support small business owners. Specific measures mentioned include an exemption from VAT settlement and declaration for those invoicing under 85,000 euros, a single-window system to reduce administrative burdens, and a zero-rate Social Security contribution for the first year of entrepreneurship. The party also linked the rising cost of food and energy to a loss of purchasing power among low-income households.
