People's Party urges free AP‑46 toll amid A‑45 construction in Málaga province

José Ramón Carmona, the People’s Party secretary‑general in Málaga, has asked the Spanish government to suspend the AP‑46 toll while works are carried out on the A‑45 between km 118 and 123 near Antequera and Casabermeja. The lane reductions have caused traffic queues of up to two kilometres in both directions, prompting Carmona to label Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez’s administration “the biggest obstacle” to mobility in the province.

Carmona also criticised the government for profiting from driver fines and rising tolls, noting that fuel prices have jumped after subsidy removals linked to the Iran war, and lamented a lack of investment in road infrastructure over the past eight years. He called for the Las Pedrizas toll to be opened during the works and for the AP‑46 to be made free for the period of the disruption.
