Pepa Charro clarifies retirement of La Terremoto de Alcorcón persona

Actress Pepa Charro has addressed recent rumors regarding the death of her famous alter ego, La Terremoto de Alcorcón, clarifying that the character was not deceased but rather retired by her own choice.

During an appearance on the program ‘El Hormiguero’, Charro explained that she decided to ‘kill’ the character because the persona had become overwhelming. She stated, “I couldn’t take it anymore... The success ate me. It ate Pepa,” noting that the character had begun to overshadow her professional identity as an actress.

Charro, who gained fame as part of the group Diabéticas Aceleradas and through musical parodies, is currently focusing on her versatility in acting. She is presently performing in the play ‘53 domingos’, written by Cesc Gay, at the Teatre Condal in Barcelona before embarking on a national tour.
