Pepe Chedraui addresses reelection, gender laws, and municipal reports in Puebla

Puebla Mayor Pepe Chedraui Budib has addressed several political and cultural developments in the city. Regarding political future, Chedraui stated he will request a leave of absence to seek reelection in 2027 only when directed by the Morena party leadership. He also criticized a legislative proposal by the local Congress to accelerate gender alternation for the governorship to 2030, labeling the initiative as “inconstitucional”.

In terms of administration, Chedraui is preparing for his second government report, scheduled for October 15 at the Municipal Palace. Following the central ceremony, he plans to conduct a decentralized tour across the city’s 17 auxiliary juntas to present management results directly to local communities.

Culturally, the municipal government and the Municipal Institute of Art and Culture (IMACP) are organizing events, including a free concert on September 29 to celebrate the 130th anniversary of the Municipal Symphony Band. The city is also hosting various weekend activities involving film, theater, and workshops.
