Pepe Mujica honored with new walkway in Spain and exhibition in Uruguay

Events honoring former Uruguayan President José ‘Pepe’ Mujica are taking place in both Spain and Uruguay.

In Oleiros, Spain, the local government is inaugurating the ‘Paseo Pepe Mujica’ in the O Paraíso area. The event will feature Uruguayan Senator Blanca Rodríguez, who has Galician ancestry, as well as the Uruguayan Ambassador to Spain, Bernardo Greiver del Hoyo. Former Vice President Lucía Topolansky is expected to participate via videoconference. The inauguration is scheduled for Saturday at 12:00.

In Paysandú, Uruguay, the Movimiento de Participación Popular (MPP) has launched a traveling photographic exhibition titled ‘Una vida en movimiento’. The exhibit aims to summarize Mujica’s life and political journey through four distinct stages. The exhibition will be accompanied by book presentations, courses, and musical performances throughout the month.
