PeproMene Bio reports breakthrough Phase 1 results for B-cell lymphoma therapy

PeproMene Bio has announced the publication of Phase 1 clinical trial results in The Lancet regarding its first-in-class BAFF-R-targeted CAR T-cell therapy, PMB-CT01. The study evaluated the treatment in patients with relapsed or refractory B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

Results showed that 7 out of 9 patients (80%) achieved a complete response (CR). Notably, this included 4 out of 6 patients who had previously progressed after conventional CD19-directed CAR T-cell therapy. All complete responses were ongoing at the time of the data cutoff, with the longest response lasting 35 months.

The therapy demonstrated a favorable safety profile, with cytokine release syndrome (CRS) and immune effector cell-associated neurotoxicity syndrome (ICANS) events limited to Grade 1. Following these results, the clinical trial has expanded from City of Hope to multiple medical centers across the United States.
