PepsiCo Indonesia harvests industrial potatoes in Garut
PepsiCo Indonesia has conducted an industrial potato harvest in Garut Regency, West Java, in collaboration with local farmers and the Garut Regency Agriculture Office. The harvested potatoes will serve as a primary raw material for producing Lay’s potato chips at PepsiCo Indonesia’s factory in Cikarang, West Java.
This initiative marks a significant milestone in PepsiCo’s efforts to establish an industrial potato agricultural ecosystem in West Java, a project that began in 2024. Following initial planting in November 2025, the company has provided continuous support to farmers through capability development and knowledge transfer regarding productive and sustainable agricultural practices.
The program aims to create a seamless connection from upstream to downstream, linking local farmers directly to industrial processing. Dedi, Secretary of the Garut Regency Agriculture Office, noted that the program provides essential guidance and education to ensure agricultural yields meet industrial standards, contributing to the regional economy.
