PepsiCo’s Former Restaurant Chains and Current Beverage‑Snack Portfolio

PepsiCo formerly owned fast‑food chains through Tricon Global Restaurants, which included Pizza Hut, Taco Bell and Kentucky Fried Chicken. The restaurant unit was spun off as an independent company in 2002, and PepsiCo no longer holds any restaurant brands.

The company now concentrates on a wide range of beverages and snack foods. Its carbonated drinks include Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Diet Pepsi and Pepsi Max; non‑carbonated offerings feature Gatorade and Aquafina. Snack brands such as Lay’s, Doritos, Cheetos and other items complement the beverage line. Founded in 1902 by pharmacist Caleb Bradham, PepsiCo currently manages 23 billion‑dollar brands—16 in beverages and 7 in snacks—each generating over $1 billion in annual revenue worldwide.
