Per Ivar Lied named Center Party lead candidate in Møre og Romsdal

The Center Party (Senterpartiet) in Møre og Romsdal has finalized its candidate list for the 2027 county council election. Per Ivar Lied has emerged as the clear favorite to serve as the party's first candidate for the county mayor position.

Lied, 56, currently serves on the county council and is a member of the county executive committee. His political background includes 12 years as a deputy representative in the Storting and eight years in the Ørsta municipal council and executive committee. He also serves as the deputy leader of the Center Party in Møre og Romsdal.

The nomination committee is also introducing new leadership figures, specifically highlighting Ane Ingvild Støen Mittet as a fresh second candidate. Mittet is a dairy and meat producer and the former organizational manager for the Møre og Romsdal Farmers' Association. She holds degrees in history and political science and has experience working with the Ministry of Justice and Emergency Management and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
