Per la Conca launches environmental pilot in Conca d'Òdena

The association Per la Conca has initiated a pilot project titled ‘Community action for the improvement of environmental and urban health’ in the municipalities of Igualada, Vilanova del Camí, and Santa Margarida de Montbui.

The initiative aims to analyze how environmental quality around educational and healthcare facilities affects children and patients. The project will conduct a diagnosis of approximately 40 sites, including hospitals, primary care centers (CAPs), and both public and private schools. Key factors to be assessed include green spaces, pollution, noise levels, climate comfort, and the availability of shade and vegetation.

Starting this October and scheduled to conclude in the spring of 2027, the project combines technical environmental analysis with community participation. Informative sessions will be held with students, families, and professionals to gather local perspectives. The project has received a 15,000 euro grant from the Pinnae Foundation.
