Per Okkels has been appointed as the new chairman of the board for the Danish MS hospitals (Sclerosehospitalerne). He succeeds Jane Heitmann, who is stepping down after four years in the role.

Okkels brings extensive experience from the Danish healthcare system, having served as the permanent secretary in the Ministry of Health from 2011 to 2021. His previous leadership roles include director positions at Region Nordjylland and Danske Regioner. In his new capacity, Okkels aims to strengthen the hospitals' position and ensure their specialized knowledge contributes more effectively to the integrated healthcare system.
