Perak River: Man found dead after jumping in to retrieve drifting boat

A 38-year-old man has been found dead in the Perak River near Bota Kiri after jumping into the water to retrieve a boat that had drifted away from his fish cage.

The incident occurred near Kampung Kuchai, where the victim attempted to recover his property but was unable to be saved by his nephew. Following an initial search by the Malaysia Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Perak, search operations were expanded using water rescue teams, K9 units, and diving techniques.

The victim's body was discovered floating approximately four kilometers from the original site of the incident. The body was recovered by the Water Rescue Team at 2:00 PM and has been handed over to the police for further investigation.
