Perak to Continue Hosting MATTA Connect Tourism Event

The Perak state government and the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) have agreed to hold the MATTA Connect tourism matchmaking event in Perak again next year, synchronising it with the MATTA Fair. The 2026 edition was staged at the Ipoh Convention Centre and drew hundreds of international buyers from Thailand, China, Indonesia, Singapore, India, Uzbekistan and other markets.

The two‑day programme featured B2B matching sessions, destination presentations and a business forum covering travel trends, digital transformation and sustainability. Organisers said the event supports the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign and aims to help Perak reach its target of 1.2 million international visitors and 10.5 million domestic tourists in 2026, boosting the state’s tourism economy.
