Perbasi ramps up preparations for 2026 Asian Games

The Indonesian Basketball Association (Perbasi) is intensifying preparations for the 2026 Asian Games. For the men's national team, head coach David Singleton has bolstered the squad by calling up Lester Prosper and Anthony Beane to complement local talents such as Abraham Damar Grahita and Andakara Prastawa. Perbasi Chairman Budisatrio Djiwandono expressed optimism that the cohesive squad can compete effectively in Pool A against Japan, South Korea, and Saudi Arabia, with the ultimate goal of securing a medal.

In preparation for the 3x3 basketball competition, Perbasi has dispatched a team named Tim Balige to participate in the FIBA 3x3 Kaohsiung Challenger in Taiwan. The squad, consisting of players under the age of 23 to comply with Asian Games regulations, includes Almando Davin Nepa Bait, Halmaheranno Aprianto Lolaru Hady, Erick Ibrahim Junior, and Daffa Dhoifullah. The team will compete in Group B against Shibuya from Japan and Phoenix from the United States. According to Derry Primasta Octa, the tournament serves as a vital opportunity to build competitive mental strength and test strategies against elite international players.
