Percasi emphasizes sustainable ecosystem for Indonesian chess development

During the Japfa Chess Festival 2026 in Jakarta, discussions highlighted the necessity of a sustainable ecosystem for developing young chess players in Indonesia. Eka Putra Wirya, a board member of PB Percasi, emphasized that talent alone is insufficient and requires coordinated support from the business sector, education, families, and coaches to ensure consistent regeneration.

Japfa has been a long-term supporter of the national chess ecosystem, assisting in the development of athletes from youth levels to international competition. Through the ‘Japfa for Kids’ program, the company coordinates with Percasi to scout talent in schools, reaching approximately 17,000 students this year.
