Percoto nursing home homicide: Daughter arrested for killing father
A 91-year-old man, Giuliano Fedele, was killed by his 61-year-old daughter, Marzia Fedele, at the Villa Orchidea nursing home in Percoto, a hamlet of Pavia di Udine. The attack occurred during visiting hours when the daughter allegedly entered her father's room and stabbed him ten times in the chest and back.
Following the incident, the daughter reportedly drove to the Carabinieri station in Manzano to surrender, carrying the bloodstained weapon. The Udine Prosecutor's Office is investigating the case as voluntary homicide aggravated by premeditation, noting that she brought a knife from her home to the facility.
Investigators are looking into the circumstances surrounding the attack, including a recent heated argument between the two in the facility's dining hall. While the defense has ruled out financial motives, citing the high costs of the facility, they have described the event as a 'pure family tragedy' potentially linked to emotional exhaustion and the victim's struggle with senile dementia. The victim's wife, who also resides at the facility, was in a different room and did not witness the attack.
