Perdigão, Brazil factory fire injures three workers
A large fire destroyed roughly 90% of the EVA Sete industrial plant on the Rodovia do Calçado in Perdigão, Minas Gerais, after an explosion near a hydraulic press. The blaze generated a thick smoke column that was visible across nearby towns.
Three male employees suffered severe burns and were taken to local hospitals; one required transfer to a specialized burn unit in Belo Horizonte. Firefighters deployed several engines and water trucks, while SAMU ambulance crews provided immediate medical aid. Police and forensic investigators secured the scene and are examining the cause of the explosion. The incident left the factory largely destroyed, and the official cause remains under investigation.
