Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, born Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr, is recovering in a Florida hospital following a mental health crisis on August 4. During a TikTok livestream from his Miami home, Hilton appeared to engage in self-harm with a knife, an incident that lasted approximately 15 minutes before the feed was terminated. He was subsequently hospitalized under Florida’s Baker Act for psychiatric evaluation.

Reports indicate Hilton may face permanent physical disfigurement due to the severity of his injuries, which required extensive stitching. His family has noted that his recovery process could take months or even years.

A Miami judge has granted Hilton supervised visitation with his three children, provided he obtains psychiatric clearance. The court has also awarded temporary legal custody of the children to Hilton’s mother, Teresita Lavandeira, to manage their medical and educational needs. The custody case has been sealed to protect the privacy of the children, who were reportedly aware of their father’s mental health struggles prior to the incident.
