Hilton is being held under Florida's Baker Act, a law allowing for involuntary emergency mental health evaluations. His family reported that he "experienced significant blood loss and sustained additional injuries that will require surgery in the coming days."
Hilton's family stated that his children, niece, and sister were present in the home just minutes before the livestream began. They fled the residence immediately upon recognizing the severity of his mental health crisis to protect the children from witnessing the trauma. TikTok confirmed that while its automated systems flagged the livestream, a moderator error caused a delay in its removal. The platform subsequently banned Hilton's account.
