Perez Hilton remains hospitalized following medical crisis in Miami
Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, legally known as Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr., remains hospitalized in Miami following a medical crisis that began on August 4. The incident, which occurred during a TikTok live stream at his residence, resulted in significant physical injuries, including lacerations, broken bones, and blood loss. Authorities reportedly responded to a suspected overdose and transferred him under Florida’s Baker Act, which allows for involuntary hold when there is a risk of self-harm.
Family members have indicated that Hilton is now transitioning into the mental health phase of his recovery. While a Miami judge has granted him visitation rights to see his three children, family members are delaying in-person reunions to avoid further traumatizing them. The children were present in the home during the incident, and current contact is limited to phone calls. Any future face-to-face meetings must be supervised by a therapist or an approved family member.
Recent updates from family members suggest that Hilton is still dealing with visible wounds on his face, neck, and arms, as well as complications from a previous life-threatening battle with sepsis. Psychiatrists are currently monitoring his mental state to ensure his safety as he continues treatment.
