Perfumerías Avenida begins store closures in Salamanca

Perfumerías Avenida, one of the largest companies in Salamanca by turnover, has begun a new phase of its restructuring plan. As of late September 2026, several stores in Salamanca and the surrounding province are closing, marking a significant shift for the historic chain.

The restructuring, initiated by Grupo Recio, aims to address losses in certain locations, excess stock, and challenges in the digital market. The original plan included 30 store closures and over 100 layoffs, but following negotiations between the company and workers, the impact was reduced. The final figures include approximately 80 departures, many through early retirement and agreements, and the closure of unprofitable locations. The company's network still consists of approximately 200 stores, primarily located in provincial capitals and large municipalities within Castilla y León.
