Kashiyuka, a member of the techno-pop unit Perfume, has garnered significant social media attention after posting videos of herself freediving in a coral reef. Using the hashtag ‘#shumiyuka’ (Kashiyuka’s Hobbies), she shared footage on Instagram showing her swimming gracefully through clear blue waters while wearing a wetsuit and long fins.

The posts have received tens of thousands of likes, with followers comparing her movements to a mermaid and expressing admiration for her fluid style underwater. Kashiyuka is an experienced diver who previously reported obtaining the international ‘AIDA2’ freediving certification in 2024. She has frequently shared her underwater explorations, including trips to Ishigaki Island and various international locations, on her social media accounts.
