Pergamino mayoral succession discussions begin for 2027 elections

Political discussions regarding the 2027 mayoral succession in Pergamino have begun following the announcement that current mayor Javier Martínez does not intend to seek a new term. Martínez has expressed a desire to promote the continuity of his political movement through a successor.

Several figures within the ruling and opposition groups have emerged as potential candidates. Ignacio Maiztegui, a councilman and head of the officialist bloc, has publicly stated his intention to run, citing his experience in both the private and public sectors. Aurelia Furnari, Director of the Local Development Agency, has also acknowledged her potential candidacy as part of the officialist alternatives.

Additionally, provincial deputy María Paula Bustos has been mentioned as a possibility, indicating she would accept the role if requested by Martínez.
