Pergola White Truffle Fair draws 20,000 visitors

The International White Truffle Fair in Pergola has seen significant success, recording 20,000 attendees during its second Sunday. The event featured extensive exhibitions, cooking shows, and tastings, drawing visitors from across Italy.

Discussions at the fair focused on the future of truffle production through the concept of “cultivating the wild.” This approach involves using research and new techniques to support natural processes and forest care to enhance the production of high-quality white truffles.

Regional mapping by AMAP, presented by President Renato Frontini, has identified vast areas in the Marche region that meet 19 specific environmental and climatic criteria ideal for white truffle cultivation. This scientific validation aims to establish a new economic perspective for the area, drawing inspiration from Spanish mountain regions where truffle farming has helped combat rural depopulation.
