Perikatan Nasional registration cancelled by Malaysia's RoS

The Registry of Societies (RoS) Malaysia has cancelled the registration of the Perikatan Nasional (PN) political coalition. The decision follows the coalition's failure to provide sufficient justification to refute the grounds for cancellation under the Societies Act 1966.

The crisis stems from internal disputes, specifically allegations by Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) regarding procedural irregularities during a PN Supreme Council meeting on July 16. Bersatu representatives claim they were denied the right to participate, vote, or receive proper meeting notices, and cited issues regarding quorum and organizational structure changes.

In response, PAS official Annuar Musa stated that the five component parties—PAS, Gerakan, Wawasan, MIPP, and Pejuang—remain unaffected by the cancellation and will continue their political movements. Meanwhile, Bersatu officials defended their complaint to the RoS as a principled move to uphold legal integrity rather than an act of betrayal.
