Periklindo urges Indonesian government to provide stable electric vehicle incentives

Moeldoko, Chairman of the Indonesian Electric Vehicle Industry Association (Periklindo), has called for greater government certainty regarding electric vehicle incentives, particularly for electric motorcycles. During a meeting with Commission VII of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Moeldoko criticized the current policy approach as inconsistent, noting that delays in promised subsidies have caused stagnation among manufacturers and dealers. He suggested that incentives should be guaranteed for a minimum of three years to provide the industry with the stability needed for business decisions.

In a separate development, Periklindo held its National Congress in Jakarta, where Moeldoko was re-elected as Chairman for the 2026-2031 term. Under his leadership, the association aims to establish Indonesia as a self-sufficient and globally competitive electric vehicle hub. The organization's roadmap for the next five years focuses on strengthening the entire ecosystem, from local manufacturing and supply chains to infrastructure and research and technology.
