Peristeri coach Xanthopoulos reacts to BCL return and win over Bamberg

Peristeri basketball coach Vasilis Xanthopoulos commented on the team’s return to the Basketball Champions League (BCL) following a victory against the German side Brose Bamberg.

Xanthopoulos expressed pride in the team's return to the competition, noting that their performance last season earned them this position. He acknowledged the high level of competition in the current BCL, describing the group stage as a significant challenge due to the quality of the participating teams.

Reflecting on the win against Bamberg, Xanthopoulos praised his players and coaching staff for securing a victory against a respected opponent from the German BBL. He noted that despite a period in the third quarter where the team lost a significant lead, the overall performance was a major success. He emphasized the need to review game footage to address mistakes, specifically citing the 20 turnovers committed during the match.
