PERKESO launches MYRIDERID digital emergency ID for motorcyclists

The Social Security Organisation (PERKESO) has launched MYRIDERID, a digital emergency identification system designed to enhance safety for motorcycle riders. The system utilizes QR code stickers that, when scanned, provide immediate access to critical information such as emergency contacts, blood types, allergies, and medical histories during accidents.

At a launch event in Batu Kawan, 1,000 contributors received the MYRIDERID system free of charge. PERKESO aims to distribute the initiative to approximately 8,000 contributors by the end of the year. The initiative follows statistics from the Royal Malaysia Police indicating that motorcyclists remain the highest-risk road users, accounting for 65 percent of the 6,581 recorded deaths in 2025.

To strengthen the program, PERKESO signed Memorandums of Collaboration (MoC) with Boon Siew Honda Sdn. Bhd. and MForce Bike Holdings Sdn. Bhd. to promote motorcycle safety through strategic partnerships.
