Perkins Rocha denounces judge for denying amnesty and medical access

Venezuelan lawyer and political prisoner Perkins Rocha has denounced Judge José Antonio García Morán, head of the First Court of Trial with jurisdiction in Terrorism, for denying him amnesty and obstructing his access to medical care.

Rocha reported via social media that while seven other defendants in his same case were released, he remains under house arrest with an electronic monitoring device. He further alleged that the judge has denied precautionary measures requested to allow him to attend medical check-ups.

The complaint follows public criticism from lawyer Joel García, who accused the judge of violating due process by refusing to provide copies of judicial files without requiring a justification for the request. García has called for urgent intervention from the Criminal Cassation Chamber of the Supreme Tribunal of Justice (TSJ).
