Perla Palmieri to perform ‘My Jazz Identity’ at Forte Sirtori

Singer, composer, and arranger Perla Palmieri will perform her debut album, ‘My Jazz Identity’, at Forte Sirtori in Spinea on Sunday, September 20, at 18:30. The event is part of the tenth edition of the JAM – Jazz Area Metropolitana festival and is also included in the inaugural ‘Vini al Forte’ series.

The album, released under the Notami Jazz label, was supported by a recording grant from the US-based Pathways To Jazz program. The repertoire features ten tracks, including original compositions such as ‘Maiolica’, ‘La Terra Mia’, ‘My Camellia’, and ‘È per Te’, which blend styles like samba, rumba flamenco, swing, and bossa nova. The performance will also include original arrangements of jazz standards, including works by George Gershwin and Chick Corea.

Palmieri will be accompanied on stage by the Perla Palmieri Ensemble, consisting of Giuseppe Dato on piano, Simone Bortolami on guitar, Alberto Zuanon on double bass and electric bass, and Max Verrillo on drums.
