Perledo to host intergenerational cooking workshop for seniors

Auser Leucum is launching an intergenerational show cooking workshop in Perledo on October 14. Part of the “Safe at Home” Interreg Italy-Switzerland project, the event is titled “La salute vien mangiando” (Health comes from eating) and aims to connect seniors over 65 with culinary students.

Hosted at the “Terrazza sul Lago” multipurpose hall, the workshop will feature third-year students from the Luigi Clerici Foundation and nutrition experts from ATS Brianza. The program focuses on healthy eating, combining traditional recipes and historical dietary habits shared by seniors with modern culinary techniques and nutritional guidance.

The initiative is the first of four workshops designed to combat isolation and improve the quality of life for elderly residents in remote areas. The project, co-funded by the European Union, seeks to build integrated home care models supported by technology to ensure safe living environments for fragile elderly populations in cross-border regions.
