Perlis Menteri Besar Abu Bakar Hamzah suspended from Bersatu

Perlis Menteri Besar Abu Bakar Hamzah has been suspended from the Bersatu party for two election terms, effective from October 13. The decision was made by the party's Disciplinary Board following an alleged violation of Clause 9.1.4 of the party constitution and the Member Code of Ethics and Conduct.

As a result of the suspension, Abu Bakar, who also serves as the Kangar Division Bersatu Chief, has been stripped of all party positions and is prohibited from making any statements on behalf of Bersatu during the suspension period. The disciplinary notice, signed by Datuk Mohd Radzi Manan, allows Abu Bakar to submit an appeal to the party's Appeals Board within 14 days of the notice issuance.

Izizam Ibrahim, Chairman of Bersatu Perlis, confirmed the suspension and stated that the party is currently awaiting official decisions from the central Bersatu leadership and PAS assembly members.
