Perlora residential city undergoes urban reform process
The residential area of Perlora, located in the municipality of Carreño on the central coast of Asturias, is undergoing an administrative process regarding its urban planning. The Official Bulletin of the Principality of Asturias (BOPA) recently published an announcement concerning a simplified strategic environmental assessment for the special protection and interior reform plan of the Perlora Residential City.
Originally established in 1954, Perlora was designed as a social vacation residential complex featuring low-rise housing, internal streets, and local amenities such as a church. The site operated on a model of organized seasonal stays for workers before eventually closing in 2006. The area has remained largely abandoned since its closure, maintaining a unique landscape that blends urban layout with a coastal park atmosphere.
