Penedo hosts 18th Music Festival with diverse cultural programming

The historic city of Penedo, Alagoas, has launched the 18th edition of the Penedo Music Festival (Femupe). The event features a diverse schedule of free workshops, academic activities, and musical performances running through Saturday.

Key highlights include performances by multi-artist Antônio Nóbrega at the Sete de Setembro Theater and local singer Mestre Sapopemba at the Academic Forum. The festival also hosts a special tour celebrating João Bosco’s 80th birthday at the Convention Center and the 'Amazonian Night' in the historic center, featuring traditional cultural manifestations such as Boi Furacão and Garantido.

Musical recitals and symphonic concerts are scheduled at the Franciscan convent and the Santa Maria dos Anjos Church. Additionally, the festival includes an original music showcase for local composers via the Velho Chico Original Music Showcase.
