Pernambuco hospitals celebrate award win and opening of new 213‑bed facility
The Hospital de Câncer de Pernambuco (HCP) held a ceremony on 18 June to mark its fourth consecutive selection as the most remembered philanthropic brand in the state, winning the Marcas Que Eu Gosto award organized by Folha de Pernambuco. The celebration gathered staff, patients and families, and superintendant Sidney Neves said, "Receiving this recognition for the fourth consecutive year is a great source of pride for all of us. It represents the confidence of the Pernambuco population in the work we do."
On 15 June, the new Hospital Nossa Senhora Aparecida in Paulista was inaugurated. The 213‑bed facility, funded with a R$178 million investment from the Pernambuco government, joins the state health network and initially receives patients transferred from Hospital da Restauração. Surgeon and oncologist Tarcísio Reis, who attended the event, said the hospital will relieve pressure on central hospitals and expand medium‑ and high‑complexity services, including pediatrics, for the local population.
